The Urbana Lions Club hosted Taylor Armstrong, Central Ohio Regional Representative for U.S. Senator Bernie Moreno, during their meeting yesterday.
Armstrong talks about what his role includes for the Senator:
Armstrong provided an overview of Senator Moreno’s priorities and how his office is working to serve Ohioans both in Washington and back home.
He explained that Senator Moreno operates with two separate staffs — one based in D.C., handling national policy, and another in Ohio focused on local outreach and relationship-building.
Armstrong highlighted three of the senator’s current legislative focuses:
- The One Big Beautiful Bill — a proposal aimed at returning unspent federal funds back to the U.S. Treasury.
- The Transportation Freedom Act, designed to deregulate the automotive industry by creating a consistent set of rules all states must follow.
- The Larry Henderson Act, which would increase penalties for anyone who harms a law enforcement officer.
He also touched on efforts to regulate digital currency, noting that the proposed framework would require each form of currency to be backed by physical coins to ensure financial stability and trust.
