According to a press release from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday, Logan County detectives and agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted a joint investigation into the illegal creation, possession, and distribution of child sexual abuse material.
Through the investigation, authorities identified 22-year-old Jeremiah Monk of West Liberty as a suspect.
Investigators, with assistance from Logan County Children’s Services, executed a search warrant at Monk’s residence and seized multiple electronic devices.
Monk was taken into custody without incident and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
He was initially charged with two counts of rape (victim under the age of 13) and three counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are expected.
