A Springfield man was involved in a crash after fleeing from a traffic stop by Logan County Sheriff’s Deputies on Tuesday morning.
Around 9 AM, deputies noticed 28-year-old Spencer Puckett driving exceptionally fast on County Road 55 when they attempted to pull him over. Puckett refused to stop and began fleeing at a rate of 100 miles per hour.
Shortly after, Puckett lost control of his vehicle at the intersection of County Road 55 and Township Road 184. The vehicle overturned, causing a power pole to be snapped in the process.
The car, a 2010 Ford Fusion, was reported stolen from a Springfield dealership last week and Puckett did not possess a valid driver’s license.
A dog was found inside the car but was unharmed in the crash.
Puckett sustained minor injuries in the crash, though he was briefly trapped in the overturned vehicle before being freed.
He was taken to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment before being arrested for failure to comply and receiving stolen property. He was lodged in the Logan County Jail with additional charges pending.
