Tuesday evening Robert Shoffner, 46, of Bellefontaine, was arrested after a traffic stop conducted by the Bellefontaine Police Department revealed an outstanding warrant and drug-related charges.
Officers on patrol saw Shoffner in the passenger seat of a white Chevy truck as it turned from Woodview Drive onto Eastern Avenue. Knowing he had an active felony warrant, officers initiated a traffic stop on Eastern Avenue.
Upon stopping the vehicle, officers approached and identified Shoffner. During questioning, he voluntarily admitted to having a crack pipe concealed in his shoe. He complied with the officer’s request and handed over the drug paraphernalia.
Shoffner was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia in addition to the existing warrant. He was taken into custody and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
This incident highlights ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to address drug-related offenses and enforce existing warrants in the community.
