Bellefontaine Police received multiple calls Tuesday afternoon that witnesses had heard multiple shots being fired in the area of Euclid Street.
Callers reported to dispatch that at least 10 shots were heard and that the individuals were in a gray SUV.
Police located the SUV parked near a wooded area at the corner of Euclid and Cook Avenue.
Officers spoke with Mindy Fulmer, 41, of Bellefontaine, who said that she and a friend had been shooting in the woods.
Fulmer went on to explain that the .22 caliber firearm was in the back of the SUV in a locked box and that the pair had shot over 70 rounds.
The officer told Fulmer that it was against the law to discharge a firearm in the city limits.
She told them that she was not aware of the law.
Fulmer was issued a summons for discharging firearms and will have to appear in court.
