Sinclair arrested on OVI and paraphernalia charges

Friday, a Bellefontaine woman was arrested after a traffic stop led officers to suspect she was driving under the influence.

Police say officers pulled over a blue Mitsubishi SUV on South Detroit Street for a license plate violation.

The driver, Diana Sinclair, 51, showed several signs of intoxicationa nd officers said they could smell the odor of alcoholic beverages coming from her.

She admitted to drinking two beers and taking two shots about 15 minutes before the stop.

Sinclair then failed field sobriety tests.

A search of Sinclair’s vehicle revealed one half-empty beer and two empty cans, along with drug paraphernalia, including small baggies and straws containing white residue.

She was arrested and transported to the Logan County Jail and booked for operating a vehicle impaired (OVI) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
