As growth continues in Logan County, Ben Vollrath, President of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce and head of Economic Development,  joined Listen Up! on 98.3 WPKO Sunday morning for a quick chat about a new website that is selling our area to possible new community members.

A new campaign on MoveToLoganCounty.com is encouraging people to consider relocating to Logan County.

The site highlights affordable housing, a friendly small-town atmosphere, and an easy commute to nearby cities.

The website says Logan County’s cost of living is about 21% lower than the U.S. average, making everyday expenses more manageable.

It also says that homeownership is very common, with over 77% of residents owning their homes.

New houses in areas like Bellefontaine are listed between $300,000 and $450,000, which the site says is cheaper than new homes near Columbus, where prices average close to $500,000.

Logan County promotes itself as a place with quiet streets, friendly neighbors, and a slower pace of life.

At the same time, Columbus, Dayton, and Lima are all about an hour away, making commuting or weekend trips easy.

The campaign says local shops and restaurants, family-friendly schools, and low traffic all offer a sense of belonging.

The overall message: you can enjoy peaceful rural living without being far from major cities.

Marketing like this often aims to attract families, young professionals, and retirees looking for affordable homes.

If successful, Logan County may see more growth, new businesses, and increased housing demand.

Vollrath talks about the new website, county growth, and a strategic plan to help control growth and address possible issues:
