Smoke shop busted for selling to juveniles

Friday afternoon the Bellefontaine Police Department served a narcotics-related search warrant at 2230 South Main Street, Smokeablez shop (across from Walmart).

During the investigation, it was found that the business was selling illegal THC vape cartridges to juveniles and distributing the cartridges out of the store.

During the search, police found approximately 300 grams of marijuana, 73 THC vape cartridges, marijuana seeds, and paraphernalia.

A vehicle registered to Thariq Al-Jahmi was also searched and police found additional narcotics including 63 THC vape cartridges. They also found $999.00 in cash and a Ruger handgun.

Al-Jahmi was arrested and charged with trafficking in drugs, possession of marijuana, and possession of hashish.

He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.

All of the evidence was taken to the Bellefontaine Police Department and the vehicle was impounded.
