The Logan County Sheriff’s Office reports that several accidents happened Monday morning due to snowy road conditions.

Logan County was under a Level 1 Snow Emergency at the time of both crashes.

The first incident happened just before 6:30 a.m. in the 2400 block of County Road 57 when a 2017 Ford Fusion driven by Rober Mewhorter, 26, of Kenton, lost control, ran off the road, and struck a large rock in a yard before coming to rest near a tree line.

Mewhorter was not injured, and no citation was issued.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

A second accident occurred shortly after 7:00 a.m. on US 33 near State Route 117, when a 2019 Toyota Camry driven by Matthew Luettgen, 27, of Bellefontaine, skidded off the roadway, hit a guardrail, and became stuck in a ditch.

A passing tow truck assisted in removing the vehicle, and Luettgen was not cited or injured.

Local law enforcement urges drivers to use caution as winter weather continues to impact roads throughout the county.
