Snowy roads lead to two Logan County crashes

According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to two separate automobile crashes on Thursday.

The first crash happened just after 11:30 a.m. on County Road 11.

Brittany Linson, 31, of DeGraff, was traveling eastbound when her vehicle hit a patch of snow, went off the left side of the roadway, into a ditch, and came to rest on the passenger side.

Linson and her passenger were not injured.

Linson was cited for failure to control.

A second crash was reported shortly before 4:00 p.m. on County Road 15.

Jean Jean, 44, of Springfield, was traveling north when the vehicle went off the roadway and struck a utility pole and a tree.

The 2017 Ford Edge was towed from the scene.

Jean and two passengers were not injured.

Jean was also cited for failure to control.

Snowy road conditions were believed to be a contributing factor in both crashes.
