Soape Charged with OVI After Traffic Stop

Thursday evening, Washington Township Officers were on patrol and stopped Thomas Soape, 57 of Russells Point, for a turn signal violation.

While speaking with Soape they noticed several signs of impairment.

He admitted to consuming alcohol before the traffic stop.

Soape refused to submit to field sobriety tests.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail where he refused to submit to a breath test.

Soape was cited for OVI and turn signals required.

He was released to a sober driver.
