The Ohio State Highway Patrol has announced that a sobriety checkpoint will be held in the region sometime this week as part of an ongoing effort to deter and intercept impaired drivers.
While the specific are for the checkpoint will be announced one day in advance, the exact location will be released the morning of the checkpoint to ensure public awareness while maintaining effectiveness.
Authorities are urging drivers to plan ahead.
If you intend to consume alcohol, be sure to designate a sober driver or arrange alternate transportation. The message is clear: don’t risk lives by driving impaired.
“Don’t let another life be lost to the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel while under the influence,” the Patrol stated in a release.
The checkpoint will be conducted with support from local law enforcement agencies across the area.
Check back for more details later in the week.
