Spring officially arrived as of Friday, bringing longer days, warmer temperatures, and a renewed sense of energy.
The first day of spring, known as the vernal equinox, marks the moment when day and night are roughly equal in length, signaling the transition from winter to warmer months.
Local residents are taking advantage of the milder weather to enjoy outdoor activities, from walking and gardening to cycling along scenic trails.
With the arrival of spring, local events and seasonal activities are getting underway.
Families can enjoy spring-themed events throughout the weekend.

Things like the Logan County Farmers Market are gearing up for their season.
“Our vendors are the heart of the market, and we’re excited to start planning for another great season!” organizers said on social media.
All current and prospective vendors are invited to attend a Vendor Meeting to learn about plans for the upcoming season, ask questions, and review guidelines.
The meeting is scheduled for March 23rd at 6:00 p.m. at Morning Riot, 130 South Main Street, Bellefontaine.
Stores in the area are reporting an uptick in flower and vegetable seed purchases as homeowners prepare for planting season.
As spring unfolds, it also brings reminders for safety and preparation.
Local authorities advise drivers to be cautious as wildlife becomes more active and to follow seasonal guidelines for yard work, construction, and outdoor projects.
The weather is also changing.
A big dome of heat developing across the desert southwest will expand eastward.
The dramatic temperatures of 100+ will not occur here, but we will climb well above normal by Sunday.
Locally, we are looking at a high of 69 on Friday, 66 on Saturday, and then 78 degrees on Sunday.
The long-range forecast calls for above normal temperatures through at least April 2nd.
The average high by then is in the middle 50s, so we can expect temperatures in the upper 50s to lower 60s through around the first few days of April
