A Springfield woman was arrested on OVI charges following a traffic stop in Urbana during the early morning hours of January 23, 2026.
According to a police report, officers observed a white Chevrolet traveling eastbound on Scioto Street with an equipment violation and other driving behavior that led to a traffic stop at the Speedway on Scioto Street.
The driver was identified as Cierra L. Kuns, of Springfield.
Police reported observing signs of impairment, including slurred speech, bloodshot and glassy eyes, and the odor of alcohol. Vomit was also observed on the driver and inside the vehicle. Officers additionally discovered the vehicle’s front left tire was flat, and the car had been driven on the rim.
Kuns reportedly failed standardized field sobriety tests and later consented to a portable breath test, which registered 0.141. She was taken into custody and transported to the Urbana Police Division, where a breath test on the Intox DMT registered 0.142.
Kuns later admitted to consuming alcohol and marijuana earlier in the evening. Marijuana was located inside the vehicle, though the amount did not exceed legal limits.
Kuns was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence, a first-degree misdemeanor, and unsafe motor vehicle. She was released to a sober driver.
