A 57-year-old woman from Springfield has been charged following a reported physical altercation on Sunday afternoon in Urbana.
According to the Urbana Police Division, officers were dispatched around 2:36 p.m., March 8, to a residence in the 200 block of Thompson Street for a report of a disturbance.
Police say Lisa Sloan, 57, was taken into custody after officers investigated the incident inside the home. Officers reported the alleged victim had visible red marks near her collarbone that were consistent with being pushed into a wall.
A witness inside the residence told police she heard yelling and saw Sloan push the victim into the wall, according to the report.
Sloan was arrested at the scene and transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail. She has been charged with assault, a first-degree misdemeanor.
Court records from the Champaign County Municipal Court show Sloan appeared for arraignment on March 9, where she was assigned a court-appointed attorney. A pretrial hearing is scheduled for March 16 at 2 p.m.
