A Springfield woman was seriously injured Sunday evening in a single-vehicle crash in Urbana Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers from the Springfield Post responded just after 6:30 p.m. on March 8 to a crash on Urbana Moorefield Pike, west of the intersection with Knight Road.
Preliminary investigation shows a 2009 Hyundai Elantra driven by 22-year-old Antonio Cardosa of Urbana was traveling south on Urbana Moorefield Pike when the vehicle traveled off the roadway. The car then struck farm equipment before overturning.
Cardosa was treated at the scene for possible injuries. Troopers determined he was at fault for the crash and cited him for failure to maintain reasonable control of a motor vehicle.
A passenger in the vehicle, 34-year-old Sara Francis of Springfield, was transported by ground ambulance to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
