Wednesday evening, Washington Township Police Officers were on patrol when they stopped Steven Stacy, 46 of New Carlisle, for speeding near the intersection of State Route 235 and County Road 91.
Upon making contact with Stacy, signs of drug use were observed.
He was asked to exit the vehicle, and when he did, officers saw a methamphetamine pipe in plain view.
As officers were beginning a search of his car, Stacy had a bag of methamphetamine, threw it on the ground, stepped on it, and tried to kick it under the cruiser.
Stacy was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail.
He was charged with possession of drugs and tampering with evidence.
