The Champaign County Sheriff’s Office handled a two-vehicle crash Sunday evening near the intersection of N. U.S. Highway 36 and E. State Route 296.
The crash happened around 5:56 p.m. Aug. 30.
According to the sheriff’s office, 49-year-old Brian Griffiths of Rushsylvania was driving a 2012 Honda CR-V northbound when he stopped to avoid a truck that turned in front of him.
A 2015 Chevrolet Express driven by 36-year-old Yusue Esendemir of Reynoldsburg was traveling behind Griffiths and struck the rear of the Honda.
Both vehicles had disabling damage.
Griffiths was suspected of suffering minor injuries and was taken by Urbana EMS to Mercy Memorial Hospital. Esendemir was not injured.
Esendemir was cited for following too closely/assured clear distance ahead.
