Bellefontaine Police received a call about a suspicious vehicle in the Fountain Plaza Friday night.

The caller said the five people in the car appeared that they were hiding and not wanting to be seen by anyone.

When police arrived they spotted the car at the Kroger gas station.

The occupants spotted the police cruiser and parked the car and went inside the store.

After a few minutes, one of the occupants exited the store speaking on a cell phone. When he spotted the officer still in the parking lot he went back inside.

Approximately 15 minutes later all five exited Kroger and began walking toward Aldi.

As one officer kept tracking the occupants another checked out the vehicle in the parking lot. In plain view was a meth pipe and a large piece of foil sitting on the center console.

Dispatch then informed officers that the car was reported stolen through the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Police detained the suspects near Walmart and deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office requested to assist.

Two males provided false information about their identity and were later identified as Michael Moore, 34, at large, and Joel Salyer, 40, of Springfield. Both men were wanted on warrants. Moore’s is a nationwide warrant from Clermont County for identity fraud. Salyer has 2 failure to appear warrants from Champaign County.

Both men had just exited Walmart and both were found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and stolen items from Walmart.

When asked about the drug paraphernalia in the car, multiple occupants admitted they all used drugs earlier in the evening.

Leah Taylor and Brittany Roesch each admitted to having drug paraphernalia in their bags.

Police recovered a piece of methamphetamine inside Brittany’s bag and multiple Gabapentin pills in Leah’s pant pocket. She did not have a prescription for the pills.

A probable cause search of the stolen vehicle found the previously mentioned meth pipe and foil along with several hypodermic syringes, pipes, and drug paraphernalia in multiple locations of the car.

Michael Moore was arrested for his warrant from Clermont County and charged with identity fraud, theft, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jacob was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property.

It was later discovered that Brittany Roesch was wanted on a felony warrant from Clark County for possession. She was arrested for her felony warrant and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Leah Talyor was arrested and charged with possession of a dangerous drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.
