On Wednesday night around 9:50, authorities from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area of 220 West Brown Avenue, near Oakland Square, to assist the Bellefontaine Police Department in reference to a large fight.
Dispatch advised it was reported that the fight involved 20-30 juveniles and weapons may be involved.
Upon arrival, deputies observed multiple individuals yelling and running around Oakland Square Park.
The female victim started arguing with the suspect Tiarra Lewis, 19. Both individuals got into a verbal argument and started walking towards each other. When deputies walked toward them to separate and de-escalate the situation, Lewis put her hands on the victim, grabbing her throat with both hands.
Both individuals were separated. Lewis was handcuffed and put in the sheriff’s cruiser.
Lewis is currently on probation.
She was transported to the Logan County Jail and was lodged for assault.
