A Grove City man has been arrested and charged with rape after a reported sexual assault in West Mansfield on New Year’s Day.
According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a home shortly before 2:00 AM.
While en route, dispatch advised that the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Alexander Tamim, was refusing to leave the property, was intoxicated, and armed.
Upon arrival, deputies found Tamim being restrained by two men at the scene.
Deputies reported removing weapons from Tamim before detaining him.
According to statements, Tamim was involved in a sexual encounter with the victim that became non-consensual.
Tamim was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail.
He is being held on felony rape charges.
