The Logan County Farm Bureau sent two local teachers to Minnesota to take part in the National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference, “Lakes, Land, and Legends,” June 23–26, 2025.

The premier professional development event brings together teachers, volunteers, and agricultural literacy leaders from Pre-K through 12th grade across the country.

Conference participants took part in workshops that connect agriculture to core subjects in alignment with national education standards.

Participants also took part in traveling workshops that gave them hands-on experience and insight into Minnesota’s diverse agricultural landscapes.

Barb Kuck, an elementary instructor at Benjamin Logan Schools, and Jamie Hampton, a high school science instructor at Indian Lake Schools, were the recipients of the scholarships awarded to attend the conference, thanks to the support of the Logan County Farm Bureau’s Reverse Raffle Ag Impact Fun grant program.

“I look forward to taking what I learned at the conference and integrating it into my current programs!” said Barb Kuck, who attended. “I am especially excited to take a lesson on making tortillas from Arizona and use that for our taco feast.”

The National Agriculture in the Classroom Organization is a 501c3 nonprofit that works to improve agricultural literacy nationwide by helping teachers and students understand the value of agriculture.

Through strong partnerships with state programs and its annual conference, NAITCO has reached millions of students and thousands of teachers across the country.
