Bellefontaine police arrested a 14-year-old boy on Saturday after a domestic incident at a residence on Florence Avenue.

According to officers, they were called to the home just before 3:00 PM after reports that the juvenile had assaulted two family members during an argument over a video game.

The victims were identified as the suspect’s mother and younger brother.

The male juvenile victim told officers that the 14-year-old, identified as Isaiah Janes, began kicking him and hitting his face during the dispute.

The mother told police that Janes also choked her, though she reported she was able to breathe.

Officers saw multiple red marks on the mother’s neck and a cut inside the brother’s lip.

Police noted broken glass on the stairs, which was caused by Janes throwing multiple candles.

Janes admitted to choking his mother and kicking his brother, explaining that he was “tweaking out over a game.”

He was then placed under arrest and transported to the Central Ohio Youth Center.

He was lodged on felony charges of strangulation and domestic violence.
