Thousands of people packed the City of Bellefontaine Friday to celebrate America’s 250th birthday with an evening of family fun that culminated in a spectacular 30-minute fireworks display.

Before the fireworks lit up the sky, attendees enjoyed a variety of food trucks, bounce houses for the kids, and even a dunk tank that kept the crowd entertained throughout the day.

Families gathered across the city to take part in the festivities before finding a spot to watch the patriotic show.

Many attendees praised the fireworks afterward, calling it an outstanding display and saying it was a memorable way to celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday.

Following the show, Dave Crissman summed up the community’s reaction in just two words: “I’m impressed!”

With thousands in attendance and overwhelmingly positive feedback from the community, city officials hope the Independence Day celebration will become an annual Bellefontaine tradition.
