A fatal three-car accident on US 68 just south of Bellefontaine on Friday, left the road closed to traffic for a short time.
Around noon, a silver 2006 Honda Civic was traveling southbound on US 68 when it traveled left of center striking a northbound black 2016 Ford F-150 angled head-on.
The Civic then came to rest in the southbound lane of travel, and the truck then traveled left of center striking a southbound 2016 Ford F-150 head-on.
The truck then came to rest on the shoulder of the southbound lane of travel; while the second truck traveled off the right side of the roadway, coming to rest in the ditch on the west side of the roadway.
The driver of the Honda was flown by CareFlight to a local hospital. She later died from her injuries. The two other drivers were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
Names are being withheld until notification of next of kin.
The crash remains under investigation.
