A three-vehicle accident happened causing a vehicle to come to rest on its top near the intersection of State Route 117 and State Route 274 yesterday evening around 5:15.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office reports that Dakota Shankes, 23, of Alger, was traveling northbound on State Route 117 when Charles Downing was stopped in the northbound lane of State Route 117.
Stephanie East was also stopped in the northbound lane.
Shankes rear-ended Downing causing Shankes to overturn. Shankes then struck East before coming to rest on its top.
Shankes and Downing’s vehicles suffered disabling damage.
East’s vehicle suffered minor damage.
Shankes was cited for assured clear distance ahead and was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital by Huntsville EMS for suspected minor injuries.
