The Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to three separate crashes on Saturday as icy conditions created hazards across the area.
The first incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on State Route 720, when 29-year-old Travis Rohrbach of Bellefontaine lost control of his 2007 Toyota 4-Runner after hitting a patch of ice and snow.
The vehicle slid off the roadway and struck a gas meter. Rohrbach was not injured.
Just 15 minutes later, deputies were called to another weather-related crash on State Route 540.
57-year-old Mark Trout of North Lewisburg was traveling east in his 2001 Honda Civic when he lost control on the icy roadway and struck two poles.
Trout was not injured, but his vehicle sustained significant damage and was towed from the scene.
He was cited for failure to control.
The third crash happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. on U.S. Route 68.
Deputies say 21-year-old Kadian Moore of Panama, Florida, was driving a 2017 Ford Escape southbound when the SUV went off the right side of the snowy roadway and overturned.
Moore and a young child passenger were transported by Rushcreek EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for evaluation.
No apparent injuries were reported.
The Sheriff’s Office reminds motorists to use caution as winter conditions continue to impact roadways throughout the county.
