In the early hours of Sunday, a driver was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI) after being pulled over for speeding.

Around 2:30 AM, law enforcement noticed a white Cadillac speeding on Lima Street in Huntsville.

The car was clocked at 47 mph in a 35 mph zone and later at 78 mph on State Route 117, where the limit is 55 mph.

When the deputy stopped the car, the driver, Ryann Maples, 22, of Bellefontaine, seemed dazed and had an open can of beer in the console.

Maples initially said he was the designated driver coming from Indian Lake but later admitted to leaving Froggy’s bar.

Deputies noticed several signs of impairment during field sobriety tests.

After being arrested, Maples was taken to the Logan County Jail and agreed to give a urine sample.

He received citations for OVI, speeding, and having an open container of alcohol, then released to a sober driver.
