Wednesday afternoon a Bellefontaine police officer was patrolling Ludlow Road when he initiated a traffic stop on a gray Chevy sedan after discovering the registered owner, identified as Elizabeth Black-Evilsizor, 31, of Bellefontaine, was under a Non-Compliance Suspension.

Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer immediately detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana and noted that Black-Evilsizor admitted to smoking marijuana earlier that morning.

While speaking with her, the officer observed signs of impairment.

The officer requested assistance and conducted a series of field sobriety tests which Black-Evilsizor failed.

Based on the results of the field sobriety tests and her admission of recent marijuana use, Black-Evilsizor was arrested for Operating a Vehicle under the Influence (OVI).

She was handcuffed, searched, and transported to the Bellefontaine Police Department, where she provided a urine sample.

Black-Evilsizor was later cited and taken to the Logan County Jail.
