The Washington Township Police Department conducted a traffic stop on State Route 235 near State Route 274 on Friday around 3:20 pm.
Authorities stopped Joseph Knauff, 51 of Bainbridge, Tiffany White, 36 of Mount Vernon, and Shawn McDaniel, 42 of Salem, for an equipment violation. They were also observed to pull into multiple driveways and then immediately pull back out due to authorities following them.
As authorities met with the occupants, they were overly nervous and showed signs of impairment.
Knauff consented to a search of his vehicle. During the search, officers located methamphetamine and multiple scheduled controlled substances. Officers also located a shotgun that was modified to 12.5 inches and ammunition.
McDaniel was found to have active warrants for his arrest.
All three occupants were placed under arrest and were transported to the Logan County Jail.
White admitted to officers that she concealed a methamphetamine pipe inside her body to prevent officers from locating it. It was removed at the jail.
Knauff was charged with possession of drugs and possession of a dangerous ordinance. White was charged with possession of drugs and tampering with evidence.
Additional charges are pending.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
