Transportation Research Center recognized for excellence in traffic safety

The Transportation Research Center Inc. (TRC) has been honored with the 2025 “Excellence in Traffic Safety” Award by the National Safety Council, in partnership with the Ohio Traffic Safety Office.

The award recognizes TRC’s strong commitment to keeping employees safe and its global role in advancing automotive safety.

TRC shares the honor with the City of Sharonville Police Department and Ohio Operation Lifesaver as part of the National Safety Council’s inaugural Our Driving Concern Ohio Employer Traffic Safety Awards.

“Safety has been central to TRC’s mission for more than 50 years,” said Brett Roubinek, president and CEO of TRC. “Whether testing next-generation technologies that protect millions of drivers worldwide or ensuring our employees return home safely each day, this award affirms our commitment to a culture where safety comes first.”

Over the past year, TRC has:

  • Launched a $25 million upgrade to its Impact Laboratory for advanced crash testing.
  • Led the Research Consortium for Crashworthiness in Automated Driving Systems.
  • Hosted public workshops to shape safety standards for new vehicle technologies.
  • Maintained 506 consecutive days without a lost-time injury.
  • Provided extensive safety training and certifications for all drivers on campus.
