Also during the meeting, Athletic Director Jason Malone shared the athletic department’s strategic plan.

The plan outlines three major focus areas for 2025–2026: participation, culture, and skill development.

To boost participation, the district aims to strengthen ties with youth programs, encourage multi-sport involvement, and improve communication with families through social media and an upcoming Athletics Fair.

The culture goals emphasize building pride, accountability, and leadership through free student athletic passes, district-wide pep rallies, alumni nights, and the creation of a Leadership Council for coaches.

Skill development efforts include establishing consistent sport-specific benchmarks across all grade levels, unifying coaching methods through shared systems and training, hosting annual coaching clinics, and setting clear short-, intermediate-, and long-term performance goals for athletes.

Overall, the plan focuses on growing student participation, improving consistency across programs, and building a resilient athletic culture.

Superintedent Vickie Maruniak discusses the latest commendations and recognitions along with the athletics department’s stragetic plan.
