Early Saturday morning, Bellefontaine Police saw a white SUV leaving the Speedway parking lot and heading north on South Main Street.
The vehicle made a wide turn, nearly crossing the double yellow line, and then turned west onto Auburn Avenue, a one-way street.
As police followed, the driver, 32-year-old Calyssa Lackey from Troy, made another wide turn into the former Rite Aid parking lot.
Officers noticed Lackey’s slurred speech and could smell alcoholic beverages on her breath.
Lackey admitted she did not have a driver’s license and was unable to provide proof of insurance or a valid ID.
When asked if she had been drinking, she denied consuming any alcohol.
Lackey refused to perform field sobriety tests.
She was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI) and transported to the Bellefontaine Police Department, where her behavior remained disruptive.
Lackey became argumentative and made threats toward the officer.
Later, at the Logan County Jail, Lackey continued to act out, hitting her head against the wall, which led to her being placed in a restraint chair.
She is facing multiple charges, including OVI, with two prior convictions.
