According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, earlier this week, a Russells Point man drove into a corn field after swerving to avoid a stopped school bus on County Road 31.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office reports the crash happened around 3:30 p.m. when 59-year-old Jeffery Hoge was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado with a trailer attached.
Hoge failed to notice a school bus stopped to drop off a child at their home.
To avoid rear-ending the bus, he swerved off the right side of the roadway and into a nearby corn field.
No injuries were reported.
Hoge was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
