On Tuesday, a truck driver was arrested at the westbound US 33 rest area after refusing to cooperate with a commercial vehicle inspection.
Shortly after 3:00 PM, deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to help an officer from the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO), who said the driver, Anthony Vanderbilt, 59, of Richton Park, IL, was yelling and refusing to let him complete the inspection.
When deputies spoke with Vanderbilt, he continued to argue and delay the process.
After being warned that refusing could lead to arrest, he was taken into custody for obstructing official business.
Vanderbilt was handcuffed, searched, and taken to the Logan County Jail.
His personal belongings were secured and logged at the jail.
