Two suspects were arrested Friday afternoon following a drug raid at a residence on North Detroit Street in Bellefontaine.
At 12:30 PM on Friday, officers with the Bellefontaine Police Department’s Criminal Patrol Unit — assisted by detectives from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office — executed an arrest and search warrant at 134 North Detroit Street as part of an ongoing drug investigation.
Police say they encountered De’Andrea L. Tucker, 45, on the front porch.
Tucker allegedly refused officers’ commands and kept his hands hidden in his sweatshirt pocket.
After a brief struggle, he was detained.
Officers say he attempted to discard suspected crack cocaine during the encounter, which was recovered at the scene.
While that was happening, other officers knocked and announced their presence at the front door.
When no one responded, they forced entry.
Inside, they saw Stephanie L. Burk, 46, run upstairs.
She was found in a bedroom where she reportedly tried to dispose of suspected crack cocaine.
Burk was taken into custody without further incident.
A search of the home uncovered packaging materials, digital scales, baking soda, multiple cell phones, drug paraphernalia, and additional suspected crack cocaine — all commonly associated with drug distribution and manufacturing.
Tucker was charged with possession of cocaine and tampering with evidence.
Burk was charged with possession of cocaine, tampering with evidence, illegal manufacturing of drugs, and trafficking in cocaine.
Both individuals were booked into the Logan County Jail.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police say additional charges may be filed as evidence is processed.
