Wednesday evening, Washington Township officers conducted a traffic stop on Township Road 239 at US Route 33, citing expired registration and equipment violations.

The driver, 44-year-old Christopher Lunsford from Milford, and the passenger, 60-year-old Lori Cook from Owensville, were identified during the stop.

While speaking with the occupants, officers noticed signs of drug use, prompting the request for K9 Hondo to respond to the scene.

The K9 indicated the presence of an illegal drug odor inside the vehicle.

A vehicle search uncovered crack cocaine, Clonazepam (a Schedule 4 controlled substance), and drug paraphernalia.

Both Lunsford and Cook were arrested and transported to the Logan County Jail.

Cook faces charges for possession of crack cocaine, possession of a Schedule 4 controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia.

Lunsford is charged with possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
