Authorities have released more details following a crash in Champaign County over the weekend.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says two people were injured — including a 12-year-old child — after a northbound SUV failed to yield at the intersection of U.S. 36 and State Route 559 around 12:55 p.m. Saturday.

The SUV, driven by 33-year-old Kaycee Erwin of North Lewisburg, struck a westbound car driven by 50-year-old Shawna Pierce of Milford Center.

The child sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Pierce was transported to Memorial Urbana Medical Center with minor injuries.

Erwin was cited for failure to yield. The crash remains under investigation.
