The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle crash that left one man seriously injured Thursday evening.

The crash happened shortly before 6:00 PM at the intersection of State Route 47 and County Road 9.

According to troopers, 28-year-old Cody Weber of Bellefontaine was driving a 1997 Peterbilt semi eastbound on State Route 47 in the left lane.

At the same time, 53-year-old David Miranda, also of Bellefontaine, was driving a 2014 Honda CR-V in the right lane.

Investigators say Miranda made an unsafe lane change into the left lane and was hit by the semi.

His vehicle went off the north side of the road before coming to a stop.

Miranda was flown to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight with serious injuries.

Weber was not hurt.

The Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Bellefontaine Fire & EMS, Tri-Valley EMS, Bellefontaine Police, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, and Top’s Towing.

Troopers say alcohol and drugs are not suspected, and both drivers were wearing seat belts.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reminds all drivers to stay alert and drive safely.
