Thursday evening, Washington Township officers were notified to look for a vehicle driven by Ronald Shoffner, 60, and Dawn Helton, 33, both from Lakeview.
It was believed the pair had been in Belle Center trying to sell drugs.
Officers found the vehicle near Stephenson Street and Oak Street in Lakeview.
When they spoke with the pair, they said they had been at a residence before the stop and denied attempting to sell drugs.
Helton gave consent for officers to search her, and a glass jar with methamphetamine inside was found.
Officers also searched the vehicle and found two cut straws with a white crystal substance in Helton’s purse.
A Coke can filled with soda was also found, with a plastic bag floating inside.
The liquid inside the can tested positive for methamphetamine.
Both Shoffner and Helton claimed the substance in the can did not belong to them.
They were arrested and taken to the Logan County Jail.
Shoffner was charged with possession of drugs and tampering with evidence.
Helton was charged with possession of drugs, tampering with evidence, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
