Two Transported to Hospital After Early Morning Crash

Marcus Hagans, 37, of Springfield, was taken to Mary Rutan Hospital, by Mac-O-Cheek EMS, for suspected serious injuries sustained in an auto accident early Monday morning.

Hagans was driving a Polaris Slingshot on County Road 29 when he failed to negotiate a curve and went off the right side of the roadway into a tree line.

He overturned the vehicle and it came to a final rest on its top.

Hagans’ passenger, Brittnie Whetsel, 32, of Bellefontaine was also transported to Mary Rutan Hospital by Mac-O-Cheek EMS for suspected serious injuries.

According to Logan County Sheriff Deputies, Hagans was possibly under the influence of medications, drugs, or alcohol at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
