UPDATE: Two-vehicle crash reported south of Bellefontaine

Two drivers suffered minor injuries in a rear-end crash Wednesday afternoon on South U.S. Route 68.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Margaret Barger, 79, of Huntsville, was stopped in her 2008 Honda Civic while waiting for traffic to clear before making a left turn when her vehicle was struck from behind by a 2018 Nissan Rogue driven by Catherine White, 78, of Bellefontaine.

Both women were treated at the scene by Mac-O-Chee EMS for minor injuries and did not require transport.

The West Liberty Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Both vehicles were towed, with Wrens Towing and Aces High assisting with vehicle removal and cleanup.

White was cited for assured clear distance ahead.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on U.S. Route 68 south of Bellefontaine, near the intersection of Township Road 190.

Details about the crash, including whether anyone was injured, have not yet been released.

Both vehicles involved were towed from the scene.

West Liberty EMS assisted, and the crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
