The 2025 United Way campaign officially kicked off at the end of August, and this year’s goal has increased, from $1 million to $1.1 million.
One of the biggest ways Logan County residents give to the United Way is through the tradition of workplace giving, which dates back to 1955, when area business leaders joined together to create a “United Fund” for employees to contribute to local needs.
Today, the annual United Way campaign remains the largest communitywide fundraiser in Logan County.
Becca McGillis joined News Director April King on Sunday morning’s show, Listen Up!, to talk about the campaign, how you can donate, and how to get help if you need it:
Workplace campaigns are at the heart of the effort, with more than 40 local businesses participating.
These campaigns account for roughly 75% of United Way’s annual support, giving employees the opportunity to make a meaningful impact right from their paychecks.
United Way encourages local businesses to run their own workplace campaigns this fall.
Coordinators, known as United Way Champions, play a critical role in raising charitable dollars and can develop leadership, project management, and team-building skills while making a difference in the community.
Businesses and individuals interested in participating can contact United Way of Logan County at (937) 592-2886 to access materials or get assistance with their campaigns.
There are also several of ways you can give to the United Way if your workplace doesn’t participate, ensuring everyone has a chance to help support local needs.
