The United Way of Logan County is inviting local nonprofit organizations to apply for status as a 2026 United Way Funded Agency.

Approved agencies will be eligible to receive allocations that support programs focused on improving health, education, and financial stability across Logan County.

Applications are available online only and must be submitted no later than Friday, October 3, at 11:59 p.m.

Funding priority will be given to programs that align with United Way’s Community Needs Assessment and Strategic Plan.

Areas of emphasis for 2026 include:

  • Addressing mental health
  • Reducing the negative impact of substance abuse
  • Providing long-term help with rent, utilities, and affordable housing
  • Strengthening and stabilizing the local workforce
  • Promoting healthy living
  • Reducing poverty and increasing self-sufficiency
  • Enhancing educational opportunities
  • Keeping children safe and healthy
  • Serving the aging population
  • Expanding access to health care

United Way funding is intended to cover the cost of programming, not management, general, or fundraising expenses.

All funded agencies must agree to abide by the “Agreement with Funded Agencies” outlined in the United Way Code of Regulations.

In addition, agencies receiving $25,000 or more must submit a mid-term Funded Program Report in June before receiving their next payment.

Key dates for the 2026 funding cycle include:

  • Friday, October 3 – Application deadline
  • Wednesday, October 29 – Agency Hearing Day, with selected applicants invited to present before the Allocations Committee at Mary Rutan Health Center in Bellefontaine
  • Tuesday, November 25 – United Way Board meets to approve 2026 funding decisions
  • By Monday, December 1 – Agencies notified of funding decisions

Resources are available online to help applicants prepare, including a preview of application questions (no changes from last year) and a directory of current funded agencies with 2025 allocations.
