United Way’s familiar bright yellow bins have been placed throughout Logan County meaning only one thing. It’s time to “Stuff the Bus!”
United Way’s annual countywide School Supply Drive begins this week and runs through Monday, August 21. Four dozen locations throughout the county are collecting items that will be sorted and delivered for use in every Logan County school. United Way encourages you to pick up an item or two next time you’re out running errands and drop it off at one of the collection sites.
“The start of a new school year is an exciting time for teachers and students, but can be stressful on families who are already struggling to make ends meet,” said Aidan Comstock, Family and Community Liaison for Bellefontaine City Schools and a United Way Board member. “If every resident that is financially able picked up just an item or two while shopping to donate, it would have a huge impact on the number of students and classrooms in our community that would benefit. In addition to families who struggle to meet basic needs, there are many children who are being cared for by relatives or others that may not have the financial resources to purchase supplies. Stuff the Bus gives the opportunity for all students to begin school prepared to have a successful year.”

United Way encourages anyone who needs supplies to wait until the collection is complete and supplies are delivered to each school. You can then contact your school office after Monday, August 29th to let them know you need to access the United Way school supplies and they will allow you to select what you need.
