Additional details have been released regarding a crash on County Road 10 in Bellefontaine on Monday.

According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, a 2014 Dodge Avenger driven by Jack LaRue, 71, of Bellefontaine, was traveling west when he attempted to turn into a driveway.

Deputies say LaRue drove into the path of an eastbound 2016 Jeep Patriot, operated by Abbie Field, 31, of East Liberty.

LaRue was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

While deputies initially reported no injuries, updated information indicates that LaRue was taken by private vehicle to Union Memorial Hospital with injuries.

Three children in LaRue’s vehicle were also transported to Mary Rutan Hospital with suspected serious injuries, and two of the children were later transferred to Nationwide Children’s Hospital for further care.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
