The Urbana City Schools Board of Education met in regular session on Wednesday evening, February 18, with a relatively light agenda.
Earlier in the day, the district announced it will host a public forum on Wednesday, March 4, at 6:30 p.m. in the PreK-8 Building Dining Commons to gather community input for its superintendent search. Residents, parents, staff, and other stakeholders are invited to share feedback on the qualities and experience they would like to see in the district’s next leader, both verbally and in writing. The Board said the input will help guide its decision as it evaluates candidates.

Toward the end of the meeting, the Board addressed its proposed 1% earned income tax levy, along with information presented by Treasurer Mandy Hildebrand regarding the district’s projected five-year financial forecast and the potential impacts of ongoing changes to property tax laws.
