The Urbana City Council met Tuesday night to discuss the Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) for the fire and police departments.
In their first readings, the council discussed ways the agreements would help to attract and keep quality personnel.
Concerned citizens addressed the council about the progress of repair work on High Street.
Robin Miller expressed specific concerns about signage:
Cindy Blankage also shared her feelings about the signs:
Another citizen, Joe George addressed concerns of an increase in dumping trash near his property.
He said since Halloween, a large number of pumpkins and other organic matter has been dumped to feed animals in a nearby park.
After a lengthy discussion, the council decided a little more investigation into the legality of feeding wild animals within city limits was required.
The council passed two resolutions during the meeting, first to declare an interest in real property near the Urbana Bike Trail, and then to authorize the application for traffic light improvements along US 36.
On December 3rd the council will further discuss the CBAs and other topics.
