The Urbana City Council will hold a public hearing at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in the City Municipal Building Council Chambers to consider approving and adopting the Urbana Northeast Area Plan as an official planning guide and policy of the City of Urbana.
Following the public hearing, the City Council will meet and discuss in first reading Ordinance 4408-25: An ordinance confirming the appointment of Matthew Wellbaum as Director of Finance for the City of Urbana, and providing compensation for the position. Only one reading is required before the council can vote on this ordinance.
Current Director of Finance Chris Boettcher is retiring at the end of June, having served the city for 33 years, the past 11 as Finance Director.
The council will meet again in regular session on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
