The Urbana City Schools Board of Education has unanimously agreed to place a 0.75% income tax levy on the November 4th ballot.
After some heavy discussion Thursday evening, the board elected to approve the resolution, which states that the district is
“Declaring the necessity of raising $2,882,636 annually for the school district purposes.”
The income tax is a comprehensive levy that applies to all forms of income.
This resolution would levy additional income tax over the next five years, starting on January 1, 2026.
The district will be taking the next steps to put this initiative on the November ballot.
